Meet Your Counselor
Valeria Cuzzi-Marruffo, M.Ed, LPC, NCC
Founder/Therapist
With over 5 years of experience in the mental health field, I use an integrative approach that blends EMDR, CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic therapy.
Most importantly, as I come from a Peruvian-American background, I bring cultural humility, a collaborative spirit, and just the right amount of sarcasm or humor when the moment calls for it, in both English and Spanish.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from George Mason University and a Master’s in Counselor Education From Ohio University.
As I specialize in trauma, anxiety, self-esteem issues, depression, life transitions, and identity exploration, we can build your skills to navigate life’s curveballs and generational impact to enhance your confidence levels.
My goal is for you to have a space for your complexity—for grief and joy, burnout and breakthroughs, vulnerability and strength. You don’t have to hold it all alone anymore. You bring your full, unique, vibrant self—and I’ll meet you there!
Core Mission
Healing doesn’t have to be loud to be real. It can begin with a quiet shift — a moment of honesty, a small exhale, a space where you don’t have to explain yourself.
At Hopecore Counseling, therapy is a space where first- and second-generation adults can come as they are — layered, resilient, exhausted, yet hopeful. I work with people navigating trauma, anxiety, identity, and the quiet weight of holding it all together for too long.
You might be the strong one, the first to do it all, the emotional translator in your family, or someone who’s been surviving in silence. I’m here to tell you: you don’t have to do it alone anymore...There is HOPE.
